Application monitoring with GUI master

A city municipality operates a number of web-based applications for public use. In the early stage of the project, application drop-out was a frequent issue. The IT department was often informed about the failure via complaints from the user community. In order to fix these issues, a set of automated scripts was designed to monitor the applications. The IT department deploys those scripts on a PC, GUI master then processes the scripts twice an hour, 24/7. Any problem detected on the presentation layer triggers another script which scans the state of the infrastructure. The IT department is notified via email about any findings. Because of this solution, the IT department regained control of their applications and complaints from the end user community have been eliminated.
